It was an evening game and the weather forecast was a bit iffy, Being San Francisco, it could mean anything, so I took my coat. I considered taking my hat, but didn't in the end.
Today, I arrived in plenty of time as I'd not eaten anything since breakfast and wanted to have something for dinner, so by the time the game was about to start, I'd had that and was ready to watch from my seat, which was handily positioned just along the 3rd base line, near the middle.
There were quite a few empty seats tonight, which, just like in St Louis, is frustrating because people have bought these tickets and then just not attended the game. It will be interesting to see what it's like for the Dodgers series - often people will go to those games regardless of the record of either team.
The Giants half of the first inning got off to a good start, with the first two batters reaching base, before Willy Adames hit a 3-run home run to left field to send everybody wild. This was a lead that Arizona would never be able to overcome. Although Arizona did eventually score 3 runs, by that time San Francisco had extended their lead to score 5, with Patrick Bailey hitting a home run onto the walkway in right field. There was occasional light drizzle, so I wish I had had my hat, but I was able to use my coat instead. A couple of times it became heavier drizzle, but it never lasted more than 5 minutes.
I shall take my hat to tomorrow's game, which starts at 12.45pm - whether that's to ward off the sun or more drizzle, it should come in handy either way, as the weather forecasts cannot agree.
