Bonus breakfast

When I checked in yesterday, the man noticed I was staying for six nights and said that in that case, he'd give me access to the lounge as well.  This is a private area for hotel guests, presumably for people in the more expensive rooms, which serves breakfast in the mornings and light snacks in the evening.  That means as long as I can get down there before it closes at 9am, I can have breakfasts for no extra charge, instead of having to pay $25-$30 in the main restaurant.

It was a small buffet, but it had breakfast potatoes, scrambled egg (which I don't like), toast and the usual US-style flat sausages (although the Westin in Chicago shocked me by serving its sausages as what we would recognise in the UK as a sausage!)  They also have outmeal, which you can put whatever toppings you want on, and plenty of coffee.  It's all self-service with one person looking after it, but it was really quiet and peaceful and an unexpected bonus.
