So instead, I went back on the train on to Forest Park again.
Today, I had an iced coffee in the cafe at the visitor centre and then walked around the northwestern part of the park.
This was quite different to the southeastern and central parts of the park that I went to previously.
There is actually a public golf course, which is sectioned off so you have to go around it and cannot cross it. Nobody was walking around it - they had buggies to ride around in.There is an area with lots of lakes and fountains, where I was able to sit for a whole to cool down, as it was fairly warm today - another reason why I wanted to go to the aquarium!
There were people pedalling about and kayaking on the lakes, as they are all connected to each other and to the dock where the restaurant I went to before was situated.
After walking around for two or three hours, I decided to return to the hotel to use its attached restaurant before going to the ballgame, which had an earlier start time than usual for an evening game - 6.15pm.
