San Francisco Giants @ St Louis Cardinals (game 2)

The middle game of this series was another evening game, albeit an hour earlier starting at 6.15pm.

The Giants starter was future Hall of Famer Justin Verlander.  He hasn't picked up that many wins this season, but that's not always been his fault - pitchers need their offences to score enough runs in order to be credited with the wins.

This game was tight throughout, with no scoring at all until San Francisco managed to score 2 runs in one of the middle innings.  Verlander gave up just 3 hits, before the relievers came in and they continued the good work, until the 9th inning.  At that point, four walks, a hit batter and two singles gave St Louis the 3 runs they needed to win the game - their first and only runs of the games.
