This game carried on the good pitching from the previous two games. Nothing happened until the bottom of the 5th inning when all of a sudden the San Francisco picther, Teng, couldn't get anybody out and started walking batters, followed by the batters getting hits, so the Cardinals scored 4 runs in that inning.
They didn't score again.
The next half inning, San Francisco returned the favour and scored three runs of their own to make it a one run game. They didn't score again either.
So it was quite a disappointing way for San Francisco to lose the last two games of the series, as they had played well enough for the vast majority of both games to win them easily, but just couldn't stop them in the 9th inning yesterday or 5th inning today. There were plenty of runners that made it to third base, but none scored.
The ushers at the stadium are very friendly. I wore my Giants uniform for the weekend games (I forgot on Friday) and both days I was greeted warmly and asked if I'd like directions to the section where I was sitting. It makes such a difference when people are so nice.
